Note to potential graduate students
Thank you for your interest in pursuing your graduate degree at UCF. Our department,
and particularly the Structures program, at UCF has an extremely active research
program, and I am always interested in exceptionally-qualified PhD students. If you
have not already, please peruse the websites for the
University of Central Florida,
College of Engineering and Computer Science,
Department of Civil, Environmental, and Construction Engineering,
and the Structures laboratory.
UCF students
A graduate education can be very rewarding and I am glad you are considering your
graduate studies at UCF. If you are seeking a MS thesis advisor or PhD advisor, the
best thing is to please come and meet with me in my office to discuss further. I am
also happy to discuss graduate education further even if you just have questions about
graudate education in general.
Students applying from outside UCF
Please submit a pre-application
to the College of Engineering graduate admissions website. Once this has been
completed, I will be able to review your qualifications and make decisions
regarding financial assistance. The deadlines and admission checklists can be
found at the same website.
As stated above, I cannot evaluate your credentials or offer financial assistance
until you have been submitted a complete application and received confirmation from
the university. I am happy to communicate by email or phone before this time regarding
specific research interests; however, I cannot make any decisions until your
official transcripts and GPA/scores have been evaluated by the university.
Please note that if you are applying to the MS graduate program, the research
assistantship positions are highly competitive and are usually filled by continuing
UCF students.
